BROOKSVILLE, Fla. - A 74-year-old Brooksville woman died following a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon at the intersection of State Road 50 and Lockhart Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred at approximately 12:20 p.m. on June 1, 2026.

Investigators said the woman was driving a Honda CR-V northbound on Lockhart Road while a Ford F-250, operated by a 35-year-old Spring Hill man, was traveling eastbound on SR-50.

According to troopers, the Honda entered the intersection and into the path of the eastbound Ford, resulting in a violent collision.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and transported the Brooksville woman to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities later confirmed that she succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver of the Ford suffered minor injuries and declined transport from the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. No additional information has been released.
