Detectives from the Violent Crimes and Homicide Units spent the night piecing together exactly what happened inside the residence. Their investigation revealed a heartbreaking scenario: Orlando had been shot by his friend, 22-year-old Carlos Moises Garcia.
According to authorities, the shooting was not intentional, but rather the result of Garcia mishandling a loaded firearm. However, the severity of the negligence led officials to pursue criminal charges. Garcia was taken into custody and charged with Manslaughter with a Firearm.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office has provided Garcia's mugshot to iSkyNews.com, and he has since been booked into the Osceola County Jail. This incident serves as a grim reminder from local law enforcement about the absolute necessity of firearm safety and the life-altering consequences that can occur in a split second when weapons are not handled with care.
