SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The Scottsdale Police Department has issued a SAFE Alert and is asking for the public's help in locating a missing vulnerable adult who was last seen Thursday evening.

According to Scottsdale Police, 25-year-old Michael Kaupanger was last seen on May 28, 2026, at approximately 8:00 p.m. near the 7200 block of East Sutton Drive in Scottsdale.

Michael is described as being 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing approximately 160 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

Police say Michael is non-verbal and has a cognitive disability, raising concerns for his safety and well-being.

Authorities have not been able to confirm what clothing Michael was wearing when he disappeared. However, family members reported that he typically wears shorts and a T-shirt.

Scottsdale Police are urging residents throughout Scottsdale and surrounding communities to check their properties, surveillance cameras, and neighborhoods for any sign of Michael.

Anyone who sees Michael or has information regarding his whereabouts is asked to immediately contact the Scottsdale Police Department at 480-312-5000.
