Overnight Manhunt in Kissimmee After Vehicle Pursuit Ends with Suspect on the Run

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A late-night vehicle pursuit in Kissimmee turned into an active overnight manhunt after a suspect fled from deputies, prompting a large-scale response from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

According to information gathered at the scene, the pursuit began around 11:00 p.m. Friday night. The chase ultimately came to an end near W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway and Silk Road, where the suspect reportedly abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

What followed was a significant law enforcement search effort spanning the area.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office launched its aviation unit helicopter overhead while multiple drones were deployed to assist in scanning the area from the air. A Sheriff’s K-9 unit was also brought in as deputies worked to track down the suspect.

Video from the scene showed a heavy law enforcement presence as deputies focused search efforts in the surrounding area.

As of 1:00 a.m., the suspect had not been located and the operation remained active.

It is unclear at this time what initially led to the pursuit or whether additional suspects may have been involved.
