Overnight Manhunt in Kissimmee After Vehicle Pursuit Ends with Suspect on the Run

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — New details have been released following an overnight vehicle pursuit in Kissimmee that sparked a large-scale search involving deputies, K-9 units, and aviation assets.
According to Captain Kim Montes with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, deputies observed a vehicle being driven recklessly along W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway late Friday night.
Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle near the intersection of W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway and Inspiration Drive, where a deputy had positioned spike strips in an effort to bring the pursuit to an end.
However, according to Captain Montes, the driver refused to stop and intentionally maneuvered around the deputy. Despite the evasive move, the deputy was able to successfully deploy the spike strips, deflating all four tires on the fleeing vehicle.
A short time later, deputies located the vehicle abandoned.
What followed was an extensive overnight search of the surrounding area as Osceola County Sheriff’s Office personnel deployed K-9 units and aviation resources in an attempt to locate the occupants who fled the scene.
Despite the coordinated search effort, the suspects were not found.
During a search of the abandoned vehicle, deputies discovered drugs inside, adding another layer to the ongoing investigation.
It remains unclear how many suspects may have been inside the vehicle or what specific type of narcotics were recovered.
The investigation remains active.
