4-Year-Old Shot in Accidental Incident in Kissimmee, Child Hospitalized in ICU as Investigation Continues

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Detectives with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office are investigating an accidental shooting involving a young child that occurred Thursday afternoon in Kissimmee.

According to investigators, deputies responded to a home on Amber Way around 3:30 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Authorities say a 4-year-old boy suffered a single gunshot wound during what has been described as an accidental incident.

The child was rushed to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, where he is currently being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU). Officials say the child has significant injuries but is in stable condition at this time.

Detectives are actively working to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting, including how the firearm was accessed and what events occurred immediately beforehand.

Officials emphasized that this appears to be an isolated incident and confirmed that there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities say additional details will be released as they become available.
