This Could Save a Life”: Mesa Police and Fire Offer Free Narcan and CPR Class
MESA, AZ — In an effort to equip families with critical, life-saving skills, a free Teen and Parent Narcan and CPR training class is being offered later next month in Mesa.
The class is a collaborative effort between the City of Mesa Police Department, Mesa Fire and Medical Department, and Banner Health’s Poison and Drug Information Center, all working together to educate the community about drug safety and emergency response.
During the training, participants will learn about the dangers of drug misuse, how to recognize the signs of an overdose, and how to properly administer Narcan, a medication that can reverse the effects of opioid overdoses. Certified instructors will also provide hands-on instruction on CPR, giving teens and parents the confidence to act quickly during a medical emergency.
The class is designed for both teens and parents, with the requirement that all teens must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Space is limited, and advance registration is required.
