Smoke Report at Banner Desert Hospital Children’s Area Determined to Be False Alarm
MESA, AZ — An emergency response at Banner Desert Medical Center on Friday was determined to be a false alarmafter smoke was reported in the hospital’s children’s area.
According to Banner Desert Security, smoke was initially reported on the 4th floor near the Children’s Tower, prompting hospital staff to alert authorities as a precaution. Security personnel were on scene and monitoring the situation.
Mesa Fire and Medical along with Mesa Police responded to the hospital, located at 1400 S. Dobson Road near Southern Avenue, to investigate the report and ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and staff.
After a thorough check of the area, crews determined there was no active fire and no hazardous conditions. The incident was ruled a false alarm, and no evacuations or injuries were reported.
Normal operations at the hospital continued without disruption, and emergency crews cleared the scene shortly after confirming there was no danger.
