According to fire officials, smoke was seen coming from an exterior wall, leading firefighters to deploy hoses and begin an aggressive search for the source. Crews had to strike into the wall to locate the hidden fire and prevent it from spreading further.
Mesa Fire’s Command Van and Fire Investigator were on scene, coordinating the multi-agency response and beginning the investigation into the cause of the fire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
iSkyNews.com interviewed Fire Captain Chris Tiller with Mesa Fire and Medical, who confirmed it was a small electrical fire.
“There was a smell of smoke from inside, and as we started opening up walls, we determined it was a burned-up conduit,” Tiller explained. “It started smoking and charring around it, so crews opened up the wall with a chainsaw and were able to extinguish it.”
Tiller added that there was no heavy damage to the business, and Mesa Fire crews worked carefully to minimize damage and protect the property. The business is expected to reopen later today.
iSkyNews.com reporters were on scene, capturing footage as firefighters worked in smoky conditions to bring the fire under control. iSkyNews.com spoke with Scotty, an employee at the business, who encouraged the community to stop by their upcoming Black Friday Sale to help support them as they recover.
Our thoughts are with everyone involved at Slangin Sound and Tint as they recover from this morning’s fire said iSkyNews.com. Thank you to Mesa Fire & Medical, Gilbert Fire, and Mesa Police for protecting our community and keeping everyone safe.
