AZDPS Task Force Recovers Multiple Stolen Vehicles in Weeks-Long Auto Theft Investigation
PHOENIX, AZ (iSkyNews.com) – A weeks-long investigation by the Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) Vehicle Theft Task Force has led to the recovery of multiple stolen vehicles and the arrest of three suspects tied to auto-theft activity across the Phoenix metro area.
According to AZDPS, detectives recovered two stolen vehicles, four stolen trailers, and one dismantled stolen vehicleduring the targeted operation. The investigation focused on identifying and disrupting auto-theft networks operating throughout the Valley.
Detectives arrested 39-year-old Rafael Felix of Phoenix, who now faces several felony charges, including theft of means of transportation, theft/control of property, possession of dangerous drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Two additional suspects were also taken into custody on felony warrants and drug-related charges.
AZDPS highlighted the critical role of the Vehicle Theft Task Force, which operates on behalf of the Arizona Auto Theft Authority (AATA). Supported by an annual grant, the task force works proactively to reduce vehicle theft statewide through enforcement, prosecution, and public education initiatives.
Authorities say the successful recovery effort underscores the ongoing commitment to combating auto theft and protecting Arizona communities.
