CORAL SPRINGS, FL — According to the Coral Springs Police Department, they have confirmed a bank robbery occurred this morning at Amerant Bank in Coral Springs, prompting a swift law enforcement response and temporary lockdown at a nearby elementary school.
According to Coral Springs Police, the robbery took place earlier today near University Drive and NW 16th Street. No injuries were reported, and all individuals are safe. As of 2:10 p.m., no arrests have been made, and the FBI has taken over the investigation.
The incident triggered a precautionary Code Secure at Ramblewood Elementary School, located near the active investigation zone. That lockdown was lifted as of 11:00 a.m., and students resumed normal activities.
Police are urging residents to avoid the area while the investigation remains active. No further details about suspects or stolen assets have been released at this time.
