DPS: Rider Arrested After High-Speed Stop on Stolen Motorcycle in Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ — A man is behind bars after Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) troopers say he was caught speeding on a stolen motorcycle while carrying drugs and burglary tools.
According to AZDPS, on August 16, 2025, a Highway Patrol State Trooper clocked a motorcycle traveling more than 115 mph on Interstate 17 near Dixileta Drive. The rider was pulled over and arrested for excessive speed.
During the stop, troopers discovered the motorcycle had been reported stolen. Further investigation revealed the rider was also in possession of burglary tools, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.
The subject was booked into jail on multiple charges, including:
- Criminal Speeding
- Possession of a Stolen Vehicle
- Possession of Drugs
- Possession of Burglary Tools
AZDPS emphasized its message with a reminder:
- 🚓 Stolen vehicle = Jail
- 🚓 Drugs = Jail
- 🚓 Criminal Speeding = Jail
The case remains under investigation.
