Mesa Police Department Launches CommunityConnect for Real-Time Updates on 911 and Non-Emergency Calls

MESA, AZ – Beginning Tuesday, the Mesa Police Department will enhance its communication with the public through a new partnership with Versaterm CommunityConnect, a technology platform designed to keep citizens informed about their calls for police service.

Under this system, any resident who contacts 911 or the non-emergency line at (480) 644-2211 using a cell phone will now receive automated text messages or emails confirming their call. The messages will also include real-time status updates, such as:

• Estimated officer arrival times or delays
• Notifications of arrests related to the call
• Case closure information

The text notifications will be sent from (480) 637-5232 and include a link for Spanish language access, ensuring broader accessibility for Mesa’s diverse community.

“In 2024, the Mesa Police Department had 280,605 calls for service,” said Assistant Chief Jeff Cutler. “By using a system like CommunityConnect, we are able to communicate effectively with our callers and gain valuable feedback from their experience.”

The messages will look similar to the new Mesa Police call acknowledgment and report notification templates, which outline call details, case numbers, victim resources, and how to request further information.

Citizens will also receive the option to complete a short survey on their interaction with police services. The department emphasizes that this feedback is critical for building trust and improving future communications.
