ORLANDO, FL – The Orlando Police Department (OPD) is sending a clear message to drivers in the Lake Nona area: slow down, or face the consequences. OPD's Lima Squad is actively patrolling the neighborhood, focusing on traffic enforcement to enhance road safety.

In a recent example of their efforts, the Lima Squad stopped a driver who was clocked going 72 miles per hour in a zone with a posted speed limit of 45 mph. This incident highlights the department's commitment to addressing dangerous driving behaviors.

The Orlando Police Department took the opportunity to issue a public service reminder via their communication channels, stating, "Let this be your reminder: slow down, stay alert, and drive safely - especially in inclement weather."

The department further warned potential violators, "Because if you don’t, you’ll be seeing us."

This increased enforcement and public awareness campaign aims to reduce speeding-related incidents and ensure the safety of all road users in the Lake Nona community, particularly as the area continues to develop and see increased traffic.
