KISSIMMEE, FL – A Kissimmee man, Edwin Ibanez (DOB: 11/04/1969), has been arrested and faces a string of charges following an investigation into multiple retail thefts that occurred at a local Lowe's Home Improvement store over a one-month period.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office received a delayed report on May 28, 2025, from Loss Prevention personnel at the Lowe’s located at 4420 Pleasant Hill Road. The report detailed six separate theft incidents that took place between March 27 and April 28, 2025.
Store surveillance footage proved crucial in the investigation, capturing images of the suspect vehicle, including its license plate. This information enabled detectives to identify the suspect as Edwin Ibanez. Further investigation revealed that Ibanez was allegedly driving with a suspended license and had an active warrant for Violation of Probation (VOP) out of Pinellas County.
On May 29, 2025, members of the Osceola County Sheriff's Office South Property Crimes Unit conducted surveillance and observed Ibanez operating the suspect vehicle. With the assistance of Patrol units, a felony traffic stop was executednear Old Pleasant Hill Road and Cypress Parkway. Ibanez was taken into custody without incident.
According to the Sheriff's Office, after being read his Miranda rights, Ibanez confessed to all six reported thefts. He also reportedly admitted to selling the stolen merchandise for profit.
Ibanez was subsequently transported to the Osceola County Jail and booked on multiple charges, including:
- Grand Theft (2 counts)
- Petit Theft (4 counts)
- Dealing in Stolen Property (6 counts)
- Driving While License Suspended
