Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Pasco County: One Dead After Early Morning Collision

Pasco County, FL – A fatal crash occurred early Friday morning, October 4, 2024, on Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). At approximately 4:08 AM, a Chevy Express van, driven by a 51-year-old man from Largo, was traveling southbound on Bruce B. Downs Boulevard.

As the vehicle passed through the intersection at Aronwood Boulevard under a green traffic signal, a 33-year-old man from Wesley Chapel failed to obey the pedestrian walk signal. The pedestrian walked into the path of the oncoming vehicle and was struck. Tragically, the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. The name of the pedestrian has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
