Hudson Bicyclist Killed in US-19 Crash at SR-52

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — A 57-year-old Hudson bicyclist died early Sunday morning after being struck by a car while attempting to cross U.S. Highway 19 at State Road 52, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 12:10 a.m. on September 27, 2026.

According to FHP, a 50-year-old Brooksville woman was driving a Kia K5 northbound on US-19 as she approached the intersection with SR-52.

Troopers said the 57-year-old bicyclist from Hudson attempted to ride across the highway and entered the path of the Kia.

The vehicle then struck the bicyclist, according to FHP.

The bicyclist was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from injuries suffered in the crash.

FHP did not immediately release additional information about the circumstances leading up to the collision.

The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
