LAKELAND, Fla. — An armed suspect was shot and killed during an officer-involved shooting Sunday in Lakeland, prompting an investigation by the 10th Judicial Circuit Officer-Involved Deadly Incident Task Force.
According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, the shooting occurred near Wabash Avenue and George Jenkins Boulevard.
Authorities identified the deceased suspect as 46-year-old Larry Renaldo Riles.
Sheriff Grady Judd said no deputies or law enforcement officers were injured during the incident.
Photos released by the Sheriff's Office show Riles' booking photo along with what investigators identified as a handgun recovered at the scene.
