FBI Offers Up to $20,000 Reward for Fugitive Wanted in 2001 Double Murder

ATLANTA, Ga. — The FBI is asking for the public's help in locating a fugitive wanted in connection with a double homicide that occurred more than two decades ago in Atlanta.
Federal authorities are offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to the arrest of Alvin Scott, who is wanted for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution in connection with the August 3, 2001 murders of his estranged wife and her male companion.
According to the FBI, the two victims were found shot multiple times in both the torso and the head in the Buckhead area of Atlanta.
Authorities said an arrest warrant was issued by the City of Atlanta on August 4, 2001. Three days later, on August 7, 2001, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia issued a federal warrant charging Scott with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

- Date of Birth Used: September 21, 1950, and September 1, 1950
- Place of Birth: Turkey
- Nationality: Turkish (naturalized U.S. citizen)

- Weight: Approximately 170 pounds
- Hair: Gray
- Eyes: Brown
Investigators believe Scott may have traveled back to his native Turkey using a U.S. passport.
Armed and Dangerous
The FBI warns that Scott should be considered armed and dangerous and may also present a suicide risk. Authorities urge members of the public not to approach or attempt to apprehend him if he is seen.
