Osceola Response Team to Host "Fill the School Bus" School Supply Drive in St. Cloud
ST. CLOUD, Fla. — The Osceola Response Team is inviting the community to help local students prepare for the new school year during its annual "Fill the School Bus" school supply drive on Saturday, August 1, in St. Cloud.
The event will take place beginning at 8 a.m. at 1918 13th Street, St. Cloud, with organizers hoping to collect 25,000 school supply items that will be distributed to students throughout Osceola County before classes begin. The Osceola County School District is scheduled to start the new school year on August 10.
Hosted by Steve Pugh of Home Pride Group Realty eXp, the community-wide drive is encouraging residents, businesses, and organizations to donate new school supplies, including backpacks, notebooks, pencils, crayons, markers, folders, glue, and other classroom essentials.
Osceola Response Team Executive Director Richard Herr Jr. said he will once again be sitting on top of the school bus until the community reaches its goal of filling it with 25,000 donated items, highlighting the organization's commitment to ensuring local students have the supplies they need for a successful school year.
The event is being supported by several community partners, including the School District of Osceola County, Joy Music Studios, Hopkins Heroes, AMVETS, and Home Pride Group Realty eXp, according to event organizers.
In addition to the St. Cloud collection, organizers announced that another "Fill the School Bus" event is planned for Kissimmee on August 8, giving community members another opportunity to donate if they are unable to attend the St. Cloud drive.
Organizers say every donation—whether it's a single notebook or an entire backpack filled with supplies—helps local children begin the school year ready to learn.
