Head-On Collision Shuts Down Val Vista Drive; One Person Found Unconscious
MESA, AZ (iSkyNews.com) — A serious head-on collision sent multiple emergency crews rushing to the scene this afternoon near Val Vista Drive and Southern Avenue.
The crash occurred around 2:00 p.m., just north of Enid Avenue. According to early 911 reports, a caller stated that one of the victims was unconscious and suffering from a possible neck injury.
iSkyNews.com arrived moments later and observed the patient lying on the ground as firefighters and paramedics worked urgently to provide care.
Mesa Police immediately shut down northbound Val Vista at Enid, causing significant traffic delays as the investigation got underway. Mesa Fire and Medical requested additional resources, calling for multiple engines and two ambulances due to the severity of the crash and the number of vehicles involved.
Multiple vehicles sustained damage, requiring multiple tow trucks to clear the roadway.
No further information on patient conditions has been released at this time.
