Mesa Police Investigating Apparent Murder-Suicide After Two Found Dead in Home

Mesa, AZ (iSkyNews.com) – A heartbreaking discovery Tuesday evening has prompted a murder-suicide investigation in a quiet Mesa neighborhood.

Just before 5:30 p.m. on July 29, Mesa police were called to a home in the 2000 block of South Playa after a resident came home and found their sister and former brother-in-law dead inside.

Police say 60-year-old Angela Ciura and 55-year-old Robert Braun were both found with gunshot wounds. Although the two were once married, investigators confirmed they had been divorced.

At this stage, detectives believe the incident may have been a murder-suicide, but emphasize that nothing is confirmed yet. With no surviving witnesses, the investigation will rely heavily on forensic evidence and the findings from the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine exactly what happened and why.

Mesa Police expressed their condolences to the family and community and thanked everyone for their patience and understanding as they continue to gather answers.
