Trout Fire in New Mexico – Timber Mesa Crews Answer the Call

Wildfire season is heating up across the Southwest, and crews from Arizona’s Timber Mesa Fire and Medical Districtare right in the thick of it—helping battle the Trout Fire burning in New Mexico.

Timber Mesa has several team members currently deployed, working long hours to help contain the blaze and keep everyone safe. Their roles span both day and night operations, and each one plays a crucial part in the firefight:

🌙 Night Ops Team:

Firefighter Schimmel and Engineer Atchley are assigned to the UTV Medical Team, patrolling at night to be ready in case of emergencies.
Firefighter Joseph Roberts and Firefighter Fuentes are also on night duty, providing medical coverage with an ambulance on the scene.

☀️ Day Shift Crew:

Engineer Kevin Reidhead, Firefighter Bryce Reidhead, and Firefighter Krekeler are operating a Type 6 wildland engine, working the fire line during daylight hours.
Captain Stern is serving as a Division Supervisor, helping coordinate the day’s operations and keeping crews safe and focused.

The Timber Mesa Fire team continues to rise to the occasion as wildland activity picks up across the region. Their professionalism, courage, and dedication remind us what true public service looks like.
