Second Suspect Arrested in July Kissimmee Days Inn Homicide

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A second suspect wanted in connection with the July stabbing death of a man at a Kissimmee Days Inn has been arrested in North Carolina and extradited back to Osceola County, according to the Kissimmee Police Department.

Police announced the arrest of Jihad Basil Scott, 32, who investigators identified as a suspect in the July 11, 2026 homicide at the Days Inn, 4125 W. Vine Street.

Scott was wanted on an arrest warrant charging him with First-Degree Murder. According to Kissimmee Police, he was located and arrested by the Morrisville Police Department in Morrisville, North Carolina, before being extradited to the Osceola County Jail.

A second suspect, Keith Swinton Jr., 26, was previously arrested in July in connection with the same investigation. He also faces a First-Degree Murder charge.

Man Found With Stab Wounds

The homicide occurred at approximately 12:49 a.m. on July 11, when Kissimmee Police officers responded to the Days Inn following a report of an adult man suffering from serious injuries.

When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from stab wounds.

Paramedics transported the man to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police have not released additional details about what investigators believe led up to the stabbing in the information provided Thursday.

Kissimmee Police Chief Charles Broadway credited detectives and the North Carolina agency that assisted in Scott's arrest.

“This arrest is the result of the dedication and persistence of our detectives, who worked diligently to identify those responsible and move this case forward,” Broadway said. “We appreciate the assistance of the Morrisville Police Department in locating and taking the suspect into custody.”

Both Scott and Swinton face First-Degree Murder charges. The charges are allegations, and both defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

The investigation remains ongoing.
