ST. CLOUD, Fla. — An incredible outpouring of community support has helped the Osceola Response Team exceed expectations during its annual "Fill the Bus" school supply drive.
In just 12.5 hours, the organization raised an impressive $37,850 to help provide school supplies for local students as they prepare to return to the classroom.
The fundraiser brought together families, businesses, volunteers, and community supporters who donated backpacks, notebooks, pencils, folders, crayons, and monetary contributions to help ensure children throughout Osceola County have the supplies they need for a successful school year.
Richard Herr Jr., Executive Director of the Osceola Response Team, thanked everyone who donated, volunteered, and helped spread the word throughout the event.
"This was truly a community effort," Herr said. "Every donation—large or small—will make a difference in the lives of local students and families."
Throughout the day, supporters stopped by the iconic school bus to drop off supplies, pose for photos, and encourage others to give. Volunteers worked nonstop organizing donations as the total continued to climb.
The final fundraising total of $37,850 marks a significant milestone for the annual campaign and will help provide thousands of school supplies to students in need across the community.
