LAKE WALES, Fla. — A 28-year-old Lake Wales man is facing a long list of felony charges after deputies say he unlawfully entered the same residence twice in a single day, allegedly threatening a woman with a firearm and demanding that she drop criminal charges against him.
According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Eddie Roberson Jr., 28, first entered the residence through a bedroom window at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.
A man inside the home reportedly heard a noise and discovered Roberson in the bedroom. The homeowner recognized him and ordered him to leave the residence, which deputies say he did without further incident.
However, authorities say Roberson returned later that same day and once again climbed through the same bedroom window.
Investigators say Roberson spotted a handgun on a table near the window and took possession of the firearm after entering the room.
A woman sleeping inside the bedroom woke up and allegedly found Roberson armed with the handgun. According to the Sheriff's Office, Roberson pointed the firearm at her, threatened to kill her, and prevented her from leaving the room.
The victim told deputies that Roberson was demanding she drop pending criminal charges stemming from an earlier case in which he had already been charged with battery and possession of a stolen firearm.
A nearby resident reportedly heard screams coming from the residence and called 911.
Deputies responded to the scene and quickly took Roberson into custody. The firearm was later recovered from beneath a dresser inside the bedroom.
During the arrest, deputies say they discovered methamphetamine in one of Roberson's pants pockets. According to investigators, Roberson claimed the pants did not belong to him. When that explanation was questioned, deputies said he then alleged the victim had placed the drugs in his pocket.
