Mesa Man Accused of Secretly Filming Victims Inside Bathroom

Mesa, AZ — A disturbing investigation by the Mesa Police Department has led to the arrest of a 45-year-old man accused of secretly recording victims inside a private residence bathroom over the course of several years.

According to police, Andreas Kenneth Lorenz was taken into custody following an extensive investigation into a hidden recording device discovered inside a home located in the 9700 block of East Radioactive Drive.

🔎 Hidden Camera Discovered After Years of Use

Authorities say the case began on February 9, 2026, when a resident reported finding a concealed camera disguised as a Wi-Fi extender plug inside a bathroom. Investigators later determined the device had been actively recording for approximately four years, capturing multiple individuals without their knowledge.

The case was immediately turned over to the department’s Special Victims Unit (SVU), which launched a deeper investigation and obtained multiple search warrants tied to the residence.

During the investigation, detectives located the device described by the victim and conducted a forensic review of its contents. Authorities confirmed that at least eight victims were recorded, including four juveniles.

Police say Lorenz admitted to placing the device in 2021, telling investigators it was originally intended to record his wife and claiming he did not consider that others would also be captured.

Based on the findings, detectives established probable cause, and Lorenz was arrested on May 3, 2026.

He now faces serious charges, including:

12 counts of Voyeurism
