PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a devastating 2024 crash that claimed the lives of three Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office motor deputies, marking a major development in a case that has deeply impacted the community.

According to the Florida Highway PatrolCorrine Adrianna Blue was taken into custody following a felony arrest warrant issued by a judge in the 15th Judicial Circuit Court. The arrest stems from a November 21, 2024 crash that investigators say resulted in the deaths of three deputies.

Authorities say the charges include three counts of vehicular homicide under Florida law, following what officials described as a thorough and complex investigation led by the Florida Highway Patrol. Investigators determined that the driver’s actions met the criteria for the charges.

Executive Director Dave Kerner confirmed the arrest and acknowledged the work of prosecutors in moving the case forward.

“We are thankful for the decision of State Attorney Alexcia Cox and her office in seeking and obtaining this felony warrant,” Kerner said. “We now turn our attention to the judicial process, where a jury of the Defendant’s peers will decide the ultimate outcome.”

The crash claimed the lives of three members of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office:

  • Deputy Sheriff Ignacio “Dan” Diaz
  • Corporal Luis Paez
  • Deputy Sheriff Ralph “Butch” Waller

Kerner called the fallen deputies “heroes of our community,” noting the lasting impact their loss has had on their families, fellow deputies, and the wider community.

The crash happened while the deputies were conducting traffic enforcement along the roadway.

On November 21, 2024, the three deputies were positioned on their motorcycles along Southern Boulevard, just west of Seminole Pratt Whitney Road, when the incident occurred.

Investigators say a gray 2019 Jeep SUV — believed to be driven by Blue — struck the deputies while they were stopped. Authorities believe she had attempted to change lanes after encountering a slower-moving vehicle in the center lane, leading to the crash.

State Attorney Alexcia Cox said the charges come after a careful review of the evidence.

“These charges follow a thorough review of the evidence and mark an important step in the pursuit of justice for the families,” Cox said. “These deputies were serving this community when their lives were tragically taken by a reckless driver.”

With the arrest now made, the case will move through the court system, where the defendant will face the charges. Officials emphasize that the judicial process will ultimately determine the outcome.
