ORLANDO, FL — What began as a routine pedestrian stop quickly escalated into a serious arrest involving a firearm and suspected drug distribution near one of Orlando’s busiest tourist areas, according to the Orlando Police Department.

Police say the incident occurred on March 6, 2026, near the intersection of International Drive and Carrier Drive, when an officer stopped a man for illegally crossing the roadway.

During the encounter, the man appeared nervous and attempted to conceal his pocket, raising suspicion. The officer then observed a knife and issued commands, which the suspect allegedly refused to follow while resisting, leading to his detention.

According to investigators, officers recovered a firearm from the suspect’s pocket, along with drugs and packaging materials consistent with distribution inside a backpack.
