CENTRAL FLORIDA — A semi-truck crash caused concern Tuesday morning after the vehicle lost control and crossed over a concrete median barrier on SR-400, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the crash occurred around 10:10 a.m. on April 7, 2026, near Milepost 57, as a semi-tractor with an empty trailer was traveling westbound.

According to investigators, the 60-year-old Lakeland driver lost control of the truck, causing it to collide with a concrete median barrier wall before ultimately traveling over the barrier and coming to rest.

Despite the severity of the crash, the driver was not injured.

However, officials say the truck’s fuel tanks were damaged, creating a potential hazard at the scene. It is unclear if any fuel spilled as a result of the crash.

The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate what led to the loss of control.
