65-Year-Old Driver Killed in Crash on North Goldenrod Road in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A fatal crash on North Goldenrod Road Saturday afternoon claimed the life of a 65-year-old Orlando man, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the crash occurred at approximately 2:29 p.m. on February 28, 2026, near the intersection of North Goldenrod Road (State Road 551) and Bryan Road in Orange County.

Investigators reported that a 2017 Toyota RAV4 traveling northbound in the outside lane ran off the roadway to the right for unknown reasons. The SUV then struck a sign and a fence before continuing into a nearby parking lot, where it collided with two parked and unoccupied vehicles — a 2022 Kia Stinger and a 2022 Ford F-250.

The driver of the SUV, identified as a 65-year-old male from Orlando, was transported to AdventHealth East Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Authorities confirmed that next of kin have been notified.

No other injuries were reported, as the two additional vehicles were unoccupied at the time of the crash.

The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
