Polk County Sheriff’s Office to Hold Ribbon Cutting for New Ridge District Office in Poinciana

POINCIANA, Fla. — The Polk County Sheriff’s Office will officially open its new Ridge District Office in Poinciana with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

The ceremony will take place at 9530 Marigold Avenue and is open to both the public and members of the news media. Grady Judd, along with PCSO deputies and staff and the Polk County Board of County Commissioners, will be on hand to celebrate the opening of the agency’s sixth district office.

Officials say the expansion comes in response to rapid growth in northeast Polk County and reflects a shared commitment between the Sheriff’s Office and county leaders to keep crime low while maintaining a high quality of life for residents.

The new Ridge District will provide patrol, investigative, and law-enforcement services to unincorporated areas of Poinciana, Davenport, Haines City, Lake Hamilton, and Dundee. The district covers areas south of Ernie Caldwell Boulevard in northeast Polk County, the US-27 and US-17 corridor extending east to the county line, and parts of Dundee north of Tindel Camp Road and the north Lake Pierce area.

While Lake Hamilton, Haines City, and Davenport operate their own municipal police departments, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office provides contract law-enforcement services for the City of Dundee.

According to PCSO, the Ridge District serves an estimated population of 136,000 residents and accounts for approximately 18 percent of countywide calls for service, underscoring the need for a dedicated district station in the area.

“We are excited about this new district station at Poinciana,” Sheriff Judd said. “It represents our commitment to serving the community’s needs in the fastest growing part of our county—northeast Polk. By adding a new district and realigning our patrol districts, we will continue to be on the leading edge of providing the best law enforcement services possible to our citizens and visitors. I thank our County Commissioners for partnering with us to keep Polk County a safe and wonderful place to live, work, and visit.”

Following a brief ribbon-cutting and flag-raising ceremony, the public will be invited to tour the new Ridge District Command Center. Free refreshments will be available, and attendees will have the opportunity to meet and interact with district staff.

The Ridge District Station will also feature a community room available for public use, offering free space for neighborhood meetings, events, and community gatherings.

Updated district command and facilities locations are available through the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
