Motorcyclist Dies From Apparent Self-Inflicted Gunshot After Fleeing Traffic Stop in Osceola County

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office are investigating after a motorcycle operator died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound following an attempted traffic stop Tuesday afternoon.

According to officials, the incident began at approximately 12:30 p.m. near the intersection of Orange Blossom Trail and Avenue A, when deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motorcycle carrying a male driver and a female passenger.

Authorities say the male operator fled the attempted stop on foot, running into a nearby trailer park while deputies searched the area.

Deputies later located the man off Okaloosa Avenue, underneath a trailer. Moments later, deputies reported hearing a gunshot. When they reached the suspect, they found him suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The female passenger was not reported injured.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the incident remains under active investigation, and additional details have not yet been released.
