Plant City Woman Dies After Fiery Crash on I-4 Entrance Ramp in Polk County

POLK COUNTY, FL — A tragic crash in Polk County has claimed the life of a 36-year-old Plant City woman, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The incident occurred on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at approximately 12:05 PM, on the westbound entrance ramp of Kathleen Road leading to Interstate 4 (SR-400).

FHP reports that the woman was driving a Chevy Blazer when she lost control of the vehicle, struck a guardrail, and then ricocheted into a concrete wall. The impact caused the vehicle to catch fire.

Emergency crews responded quickly, and the driver was airlifted to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Sadly, she later died as a result of her injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
