FHP: Motorcyclist Suffers Serious Injuries After Truck Turns Left Into His Path
Spring Hill, FL — A serious crash this morning on Mariner Boulevard left a motorcyclist critically injured after a vehicle turned directly into his path, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
Troopers say Vehicle 1, a Toyota Tacoma driven by a 68-year-old Spring Hill woman, was traveling southbound on Mariner Boulevard. At the same time, Vehicle 2, a motorcycle operated by a 25-year-old Spring Hill man, was heading northbound along the same roadway.
Just south of Hearth Road, at a driveway located at 4176 Mariner Boulevard, the driver of the Tacoma attempted a left turn. FHP reports that the truck turned directly into the path of the oncoming motorcycle, resulting in a violent collision that left the motorcycle wedged against the side of the truck.
The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment. The driver of the Tacoma remained at the scene and cooperated with troopers.
Photos shared with iSkyNews.com show significant damage to both the motorcycle and the truck, highlighting the force of the impact.
The crash remains under investigation by FHP.
