BREVARD COUNTY, FL — A 29-year-old woman was killed Monday evening after her vehicle veered off the roadway and crashed into a building in Cocoa, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the crash occurred around 6:24 p.m. on April 6, 2026, near the intersection of North Courtenay Parkway (State Road 3) and Mytrice Avenue.

According to investigators, the woman was driving a 2011 Kia Sedona northbound on State Road 3 when she suddenly veered off the roadway to the left, leaving the travel lanes and striking a nearby building.

Authorities believe the crash may have been caused by a possible medical episode, though the exact cause remains under investigation.

The driver, a 29-year-old Cocoa woman, was transported to Cape Canaveral Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

Troopers noted the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Next of kin notification was still pending at the time of the report.

The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
