Two Kissimmee Residents Killed in Rollover Crash on Florida's Turnpike in Osceola County

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Two Kissimmee residents were killed Tuesday afternoon following a single-vehicle rollover crash on Florida's Turnpike in Osceola County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 1:10 p.m. on June 23, 2026, along the southbound lanes of Florida's Turnpike near mile marker 240.

Investigators said a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser was traveling southbound when, for reasons that remain unknown, the vehicle traveled off the roadway to the left and struck the inside concrete barrier wall.

According to FHP, the driver then overcorrected, causing the SUV to cross back across the roadway and leave the road on the right side. The vehicle began rotating, overturned, and struck the outside shoulder concrete barrier.

During the crash, the driver was ejected from the vehicle.

The passenger, a 65-year-old woman from Kissimmee, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a 56-year-old man from Kissimmee, was transported to Osceola Regional Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities said next-of-kin notifications were still pending at the time of the release, and the identities of the victims have not yet been publicly released.

The Florida Highway Patrol's Traffic Homicide Unit is assisting with the investigation. Troopers have not determined what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway, and the crash remains under investigation.
