Mesa House Fire on Ingram Street Leaves Residents Displaced
Mesa, Arizona — A house fire erupted Friday night along Ingram Street in Mesa, damaging a home and attached garage and forcing the residents to leave the property.
The fire was reported around 9:40 p.m. Crews from Mesa Fire and Medical responded and worked quickly to contain the flames. Fire officials confirmed the fire was fully extinguished by 10:23 p.m. It remains unknown if anyone was injured.
Several areas of the home had to be boarded up due to fire damage. A board-up company was dispatched, and the electric company was en route to address utility concerns. Firefighters were also able to retrieve critical medications for the homeowner during the response. A Mesa Fire Investigator remained on scene as the investigation continued.
According to Mesa Fire, the fire may have possibly been started by golf cart batteries. iSkyNews.com reporters on the scene spoke with a nearby neighbor who confirmed the homeowner repairs golf carts inside the garage.
Mesa Police Department closed off several streets in the area, including portions of Ingram Street, as crews worked the scene. Mesa Fire units were placed in rehab following the intense firefighting efforts.
