UPDATE: New Details Released by AZDPS in Fatal Rollover on 202 Red Mountain

Arizona Department of Public Safety officials have released new preliminary information regarding this morning’s fatal rollover crash on the 202 Red Mountain Freeway.

According to AZDPS, early findings indicate the driver lost control during a rainstorm, causing the vehicle to spin out and strike a guardrail before overturning. Investigators say the crash sequence suggests weather may have played a significant role, though the full circumstances remain under review.

AZDPS also confirmed that the notification process for the deceased is still underway, and further identifying information will not be released until next of kin have been notified.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
