Mesa, AZ – A multi-vehicle accident on U.S. 60 eastbound at Sossaman Road resulted in injuries to five individuals, with one person in critical condition and the remaining four sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. The crash, which occurred around 3:30 PM today, prompted a large emergency response from Mesa Fire and Medical and the Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS).
The critically injured patient was identified as a 51-year-old male suffering from chest, back, and neck injuries. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Emergency crews, including three ambulances and two medical units, were dispatched to the scene to manage a "full balance assignment" due to the number of injured parties.
As of 4:20 PM, all emergency units have cleared the scene, and the involved vehicles have been moved, allowing traffic to flow normally in the area. The exact cause of the accident is currently under investigation. iSkyNews.com will provide updates as more information becomes available.
