APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. — Two brothers are now facing serious felony charges following the investigation into the disappearance of 13-year-old Skyler Conville, whose safe recovery earlier this week brought an end to a statewide Turquoise Alert.

According to information released to iSkyNews.com by investigators, Patrick Steve Sanchez Jr., 68, has been charged in Maricopa County with:

  • Sexual Conduct with a Minor (A.R.S. § 13-1405)
  • Luring a Minor for Sexual Exploitation (A.R.S. § 13-3554)
  • Molestation of a Child (A.R.S. § 13-1410)
  • Custodial Interference (A.R.S. § 13-1302)
  • Unlawful Imprisonment (A.R.S. § 13-1303)
  • Kidnapping (A.R.S. § 13-1304)
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence (A.R.S. § 13-2809)

Investigators also announced that Manuel Sanchez, 60, Patrick's brother, has been charged in Gila County with:

  • Custodial Interference (A.R.S. § 13-1302)
  • Unlawful Imprisonment (A.R.S. § 13-1303)
  • Kidnapping (A.R.S. § 13-1304)
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence (A.R.S. § 13-2809)

The arrests stem from the disappearance of Skyler Conville, whose case prompted the activation of an Arizona Turquoise Alert and a large-scale search involving detectives, patrol officers, SWAT personnel, and multiple law enforcement agencies.

Authorities ultimately located Skyler safely in Globe, Arizona, where she was reunited with her family. Investigators previously credited the public's assistance, tips, and widespread sharing of the Turquoise Alert for helping generate leads that contributed to her recovery.

Following Skyler's safe return, investigators confirmed the case had shifted from a missing person investigation to an active criminal investigation. Detectives continued serving search warrants and collecting evidence before announcing the charges against the two brothers.

Court records show Patrick Steve Sanchez Jr. is facing several of the most serious charges filed in the investigation, including allegations involving sexual offenses against a minor in addition to kidnapping-related crimes. Manuel Sanchez is accused of assisting in the alleged abduction and concealment of the child and faces multiple felony charges related to kidnapping and evidence tampering.

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials have not ruled out the possibility of additional charges as detectives continue reviewing evidence.

Anyone charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
