Mesa, AZ — According to Mesa Fire & Rescue, a dramatic RV trailer fire broke out this afternoon at the 6500 block of East Heather Drive in Mesa, sending plumes of smoke visible from Fountain Hills and prompting a major emergency response.

The incident began around 12:30 PM when dispatchers received a 911 call reporting an RV trailer fully engulfed in flames. Due to the intensity of the fire and visible smoke columns, Mesa Fire & Rescue quickly upgraded the response to a 3-in-1 Fire Response, requesting additional support from multiple agencies.

Responding units included several fire engines, the Battalion Chief, East Deputy, Rehab Unit, City of Mesa Utilities, a Fire Investigator, and Salt River Project (SRP). To ensure the safety of the scene and to identify any potential hazards, Mesa Fire deployed a drone for aerial assessment.

Crews worked diligently to contain and extinguish the blaze, bringing the fire under control by 2:10 PM. Mesa Fire & Rescue confirmed that all units have since cleared the scene, and no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Mesa Fire & Rescue reminds residents to remain vigilant and report any signs of fire or smoke immediately. Timely calls and coordinated responses like today's effort are critical in preventing injuries and minimizing property damage.
