Mesa Police Seek Public's Help After Shooting at Bus Stop Near McDonald's

Mesa, AZ — Mesa police are actively searching for suspects following a violent incident that left an adult man injured near a busy intersection earlier this month. A cash reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest in this case.
On Friday, March 14, 2025, around 7:56 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area of 4800 E. Southern Avenue, near the bus stop and McDonald's at the northeast corner of the intersection.
According to investigators, the victim had just exited a nearby business when he was struck by gunfire. Authorities believe the shots came from a group of juveniles gathered at the bus stop on the north side of the street. Moments earlier, the same group had been involved in an altercation with the driver of an older model blue Chevy Tahoe, described as a Hispanic male. Detectives believe the driver of the Tahoe may have been the intended target, not the victim.
The suspects are described as unknown juveniles, last seen wearing black hoodies and jeans. Surveillance images released by Silent Witness show several individuals who police believe may have been involved in the shooting.
Mesa Police and Silent Witness are urging anyone with information about this case — which is logged under Media Case #2025-4351 — to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously, and tipsters may qualify for the cash reward.
