Lakeland Woman Arrested for DUI with Child in Car
LAKELAND, Fla. — A Lakeland woman is facing multiple charges after she was arrested for driving under the influence with a child passenger early Thursday morning, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
Just after midnight on April 3, 2025, deputies stopped 32-year-old Diana El Qreish on Harden Boulevard near Alamo Drive in Lakeland. Authorities say her 2017 Honda Accord was driving with only one functioning headlight and veered into the median, prompting the traffic stop.
According to deputies, El Qreish exhibited clear signs of impairment, including watery, bloodshot eyes and the odor of alcohol on her breath. A small child was also found in the vehicle at the time. The child was safely transferred to the custody of a family member.
During the traffic stop, El Qreish reportedly performed poorly on a Field Sobriety Test, leading to her arrest. Once transported to jail, she refused to submit to a breath-alcohol test.
El Qreish is now facing a list of charges, including:
Driving Under the Influence (DUI)
DUI with a Passenger Under 18
Negligent Child Abuse
Refusal to Submit to DUI Test
Failure to Notify HSMV of Change of Address
She was also cited for several traffic violations:
Driving with only one headlight
Driving in the median
Violation of driver's license restrictions
Driving with an expired tag
The Polk County Sheriff's Office has not released further details at this time.
