Heartbreaking Wrong-Way Crash Claims Three Lives in Osceola County

OSCEOLA COUNTY, FL – A tragic crash on U.S. Highway 441 (N Kenansville Road) and Yates Ranch Road has left a family shattered and a community in mourning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the crash happened around 2:51 PM on Sunday when a 2018 Ford F-150 pickup truck, driven by a 30-year-old man from Jensen Beach, was heading the wrong way on N Kenansville Road. Tragically, the truck slammed head-on into a 2021 Toyota RAV-4 carrying a family. The impact was so severe that the SUV was pushed off the road and overturned.

Both the pickup truck driver and the SUV driver, a 34-year-old man from Orlando, suffered minor injuries and were taken to Holmes Regional Medical Hospital for treatment.

Sadly, three passengers in the SUV did not survive:

A 54-year-old woman from Orlando died at the scene.

A 34-year-old woman from Orlando, who was not wearing a seatbelt, also lost her life at the scene.

A 5-year-old boy was rushed to Holmes Regional Medical Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

A 9-month-old baby in the SUV survived with minor injuries and was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital for treatment.

This heartbreaking accident has left many asking how and why this could happen. The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating what led the pickup truck driver to travel in the wrong direction.

Authorities confirmed that all next of kin have been notified, and the community is rallying around the grieving family.

This tragedy serves as a stark reminder to stay alert on the road and always report dangerous driving when you see it. Even one wrong move can change lives forever.
