Fire Destroys Garage and Vehicles in Tampa and Firefighter Injured

TAMPA, Fla. — Fire crews from Tampa Fire Rescue responded to an intense structure fire this afternoon in the 2900 block of W. Wallcraft Avenue, where flames engulfed a detached garage and two vehicles.

Upon arrival, first responders found the single-story garage fully involved, with heavy fire consuming both vehicles inside. Multiple 9-1-1 callers confirmed that all residents had safely evacuated the area before firefighters arrived.

Firefighters aggressively attacked the blaze using multiple hose lines, working for about 15 minutes to bring the fire under control. Following the extinguishment, crews conducted both primary and secondary searches of the structure, confirming that no occupants were trapped inside.

During firefighting operations, one firefighter sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Thankfully, no other injuries were reported among residents or firefighters.

Tampa Fire Marshal investigators are currently working to determine the cause of the fire.

Crews from Engines 19, 14, 8, and 9, along with Truck 14, Rescue units 14 and 15, Districts 1 and 2, Vent 1, and IV2 were all credited for their quick and effective response.
