Fatal Crash in Hillsborough County Involving Golf Cart Claims Life of Sun City Center Woman

Hillsborough County, FL — A tragic crash early Wednesday morning has claimed the life of a 71-year-old woman in Sun City Center, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:00 a.m. on April 2, 2025, at the intersection of State Road 674 and Pebble Beach Boulevard.
Troopers report that a Ram ProMaster van, driven by a 31-year-old man from Tampa, was traveling eastbound on SR-674 when he failed to stop for a red light at the intersection. At the same time, a Yamaha golf cart—driven by the 71-year-old woman—was crossing the intersection northbound on Pebble Beach Boulevard under a green light.
The van collided with the golf cart in the intersection. The driver of the van was not injured but was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation. Tragically, the woman operating the golf cart was also transported to the hospital but later succumbed to her injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. Authorities have not yet released the names of those involved.
