Eloy Firefighters Complete Advanced Training at Fire Officer’s Academy

Eloy, AZ – The Eloy Fire District is celebrating its Captains and Chief Officers this week after the successful completion of the Eloy Fire Officer’s Academy — a rigorous, hands-on training program designed to sharpen leadership, communication, and command skills for emergency responders.

According to the department, all EFD Captains and Chief Officers spent the past week immersed in the academy, preparing for real-world administrative and operational challenges they may face in the line of duty.

The training covered a wide range of critical topics, including:

Expectations and communication
Human resources and employee mentoring
Internal investigations and legal concepts
Mass casualty incident response
EMS Command and fireground strategy
Building construction and smoke reading
Fireground command software and live simulations

On the final day, participants took part in a live fire scenario inside a smoke-filled structure. Officers were required to perform real-time command functions, simulate initial size-ups, establish incident action plans (IAPs), manage the scene, and transfer command—all while coordinating with teams executing fireground tasks.

Department officials praised the performance of their teams, saying, “Everybody did an amazing job! Eloy Fire Officers are second to none!”

Community members also expressed their gratitude online, thanking Eloy firefighters for their service and dedication to keeping the city safe.
