Osceola County, FL — According to the St. Cloud Fire Department, Firefighters are battling an aggressive brush fire tonight in Osceola County, east of Jones Road and north of Nova Road. Flames lit up the night sky behind residential neighborhoods, as thick smoke pushed through the area, raising concerns for nearby communities.

Osceola County Fire Rescue is on scene alongside the Florida Forest Service and St. Cloud Fire Rescue, all working together to contain the fast-moving fire. Engine 34 from the city has also been deployed to assist in the effort.

At this time, officials report no homes are currently in danger, but heavy smoke continues to affect the area. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution when traveling nearby, as visibility may be significantly reduced.

Our very own iSkyNews Action Reporter Richard Herr was on the scene earlier today, providing live updates and speaking directly with residents impacted by the fire. Tyler, a local resident living near the fire line, told Richard:

"It’s really intense seeing it this close to the neighborhood. We’re just hoping the wind doesn’t push it any closer. Thankfully, crews are out here doing an amazing job keeping it away from the homes."

  • Avoid outdoor burning.

  • Be cautious with anything that could spark flames, like BBQs, lawn equipment, or even cigarettes.

  • Stay informed through local fire departments and emergency management alerts.
